LEADERSHIP

Finding and Fostering the Next Generation of Leaders for PNG

At the heart of every strong nation is strong leadership. At KTF, we believe in the power of young Papua New Guineans to shape a brighter, fairer future - for themselves, their communities, and their country.

Our Leadership Program identifies, nurtures, and supports emerging leaders across PNG, ensuring they have the knowledge, networks, and confidence to drive lasting, positive change.

Because when young people are supported to lead with courage and compassion, they bring fresh thinking to the table - and they help build a more inclusive, resilient Papua New Guinea.

What We Do

Develop Skills & Confidence

We help young leaders grow through hands-on programs that build personal insight, practical skills, and self-belief.

Connect With Leaders

Participants engage with policymakers, business figures, and community leaders, forming relationships that open doors and spark ideas.

Promote Civic Engagement

We equip young people to become advocates in their own communities - speaking up, organising, and leading with purpose.

Support Youth led Projects

From urban centres to remote villages, we back youth-led initiatives that respond to local challenges with local solutions.

Mentor the Next Generation

Our mentorship programs pair emerging leaders with experienced professionals who provide guidance, support, and encouragement.

Champion Inclusive Leadership

We are committed to ensuring that leadership is accessible to all - regardless of gender, background, or ability.

Why Leadership Matters

  • Good leadership attracts investment and drives development.

  • Strong leaders deliver essential infrastructure that transforms lives and stimulates economies.

  • Community-led leadership empowers people to create their own solutions.

  • Representation matters - only 10 women have ever been elected to PNG’s National Parliament.

  • Weak governance leads to insecurity and gaps in essential services.

  • PNG continues to decline in key governance indicators, including rule of law and anti-corruption efforts.

These are big challenges. But with the right leadership, they’re challenges we can overcome — together.

Our leadership impact in 2025

Back the next generation of leaders in Papua New Guinea.

Right now, young people across PNG are stepping up -  ready to lead with courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to their communities.

But they can’t do it alone.

Invest in leadership. Support the future. Donate today.
